William (Bill) Schmalz

Sales Director, Asia

Since joining The PEER Group Inc. in 2002, Bill has been instrumental in building the company’s software product and services position in the semiconductor equipment manufacturer (OEM) market. Bill spearheaded partnerships with technology and hardware providers, further extending our sales reach. He developed a partnership with Asyst Technologies to jointly sell complimentary solutions into the OEM market and in turn, developed a new business area for PEER Group in equipment automation software. Bill led the global OEM sales team to further expand its software footprint within manufacturing equipment and made headway in the equipment software testing space.

In 2014, Bill was promoted to Director, Global OEM Sales and in 2016 his role expanded to Vice-President, Sales. In this capacity, Bill led the North American-based sales activities, the global OEM sales team, and our network of distributors. In 2018, Bill’s priority shifted to strengthening PEER Group’s position in the Asian markets. With this focus on the company’s expansion throughout Asia, Bill assumed the role of Sales Director, Asia.

Bill came to PEER Group with a strong background in software solution sales from Hewlett Packard. In his 18 years at HP, he was responsible for selling various manufacturing and corporate solutions to Canada’s top pharmaceutical and petrochemical companies. Bill holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering from the University of Guelph.
