PEER Group Advances OEM Automation Software

9 July 2011

PEER Group continues to expand its offerings of productivity software tools for equipment suppliers in the semiconductor, LED, PV/Solar and MEMS industries. “Our EIB™ OEM Product Suite is the latest addition to our products and services designed to reduce the industry’s cost in developing equipment-to-host communication software.” says Alison McKenzie, PEER Group’s Technical Product Manager. “By leveraging our experience from more than 100,000 tool deployments, successfully connecting complex manufacturing processes and equipment, EIB OEM will help equipment suppliers significantly lower the cost and reduce the risk of automating their equipment.”

EIB OEM is built on PEER Group’s Equipment Information Bridge (EIB™) technology, a multi-connection, multi-protocol communications platform providing robust and flexible connectivity solutions. EIB’s field-proven technology is already meeting the demands of mission-critical equipment software in dozens of high-volume global production facilities.

EIB OEM is a single, integrated platform that delivers the equipment automation communications standards – SECS/GEM, GEM 300, and EDA. These options can be used individually or combined:
  • EIB GEM – SEMI standard E30 and Photovoltaic PV2 (PVECI)
  • EIB 300 – SEMI 300mm automation standards including E148 and E157
  • EIB EDA – Interface A for Equipment Data Acquisition
“EIB OEM has the flexibility that allows OEMs to quickly and easily adapt their factory automation software to new equipment designs, specific customer requirements, new SEMI standards and larger wafer sizes such as 450mm,” explains McKenzie. “With EIB OEM, equipment suppliers can manage the cost of change while achieving high customer satisfaction.”
