PEER Group Moves to Top Position in Semiconductor Software Integration Market

KITCHENER, Ontario – March 17, 2003

Today, PEER Group, an independent supplier of software integration services to the global semiconductor industry, announces the acquisition of significant contracts from another major integrator who has exited the business. Although statistics are not kept about the semiconductor software integration market, many observers believe PEER Group is now the industry's largest independent integrator. “I've watched PEER Group grow from its inception,” says Jim Pelusi, Managing Partner of Axia Partners, a private equity investment and financial advisory services firm that focuses on the industrial automation and semiconductor capital equipment markets. “The company has provided quality solutions for its customers across a number of applications, has a strong management team, and appears to be well positioned for further growth.”

As a result of several new contracts in Europe, PEER Group will open PEER Group GmbH in Dresden, Germany on March 17, 2003. “Our entire technical team in Germany will become PEER Group employees”, says Dr. Michael Arnold, PEER Group's new Managing Director of European Operations. “We look forward to expanding our capabilities with the advanced engineering and project management processes developed by PEER Group.”

PEER Group is also pleased to announce the formation of an exclusive alliance with the Technology Resources Group (TR Group), headquartered in Singapore, but with established presence throughout Asia.

“We look forward to PEER Group helping us broaden our portfolio of services to our rapidly growing Asian semiconductor customers, especially in China,” says Eng Teck Kong, President of TR Group. “The alliance is especially beneficial to large global semiconductor manufacturers who wish to replicate systems across multiple continents.”

In addition to traditional software integration, PEER Group will focus on the expanding Advanced Process Control market. “Even during this down cycle, chip manufacturers are spending money to improve the efficiency of their manufacturing operations,” says Robert Harris, President of PEER Group. “And, every factory uses a large number of software applications from an almost equal number of suppliers. We ensure those applications deliver the desired operational results with the least implementation costs and highest reliability.”
