PEER Group Upgrades Connectivity Products

Newly Acquired Asyst Products Are Fully Integrated into Engineering and Support Processes

KITCHENER, Ontario – December 7, 2009

Following the acquisition of Asyst's connectivity products on August 23, 2009, PEER Group has released new versions of SDR™, GWGEM®, ConX300™, and SECSIM Pro® +. The product upgrades target usability capabilities, such as support for new operating systems and development environments, while also addressing customer requests for fixes and new features.

SDR, GWGEM, and ConX300 are, collectively, the largest installed base of SECS-based connectivity for high-technology manufacturing automation with over 100,000 licenses shipped. For equipment suppliers, these three products provide progressively higher levels of SEMI standard host connectivity capability, culminating with full 300mm factory automation compliance. SDR also provides SECS I/II equipment connectivity for any type of factory automation application, such as a station controller. SECSIM Pro is the leading SECS testing product, used to develop both host and equipment simulators.

“Semiconductor, photovoltaic, and electronics assembly companies worldwide depend on the performance of PEER Group connectivity products to run their automated factories,” says Mike Kropp, COO of PEER Group. “We're committed to ensuring that our customers' factories and equipment run reliably according to the latest industry standards and unique manufacturing needs.”

In addition to new product releases, PEER Group has also completed the transition of order fulfillment and technical support. In the first three months since the acquisition, they have shipped more than 773 connectivity licenses across the product lines. The newly acquired connectivity products have been fully integrated into PEER Group's support systems, enabling customers to quickly resolve technical issues. “The support that we have received has been excellent,” says Harold Grote, senior software engineer at Lam Research. “We're impressed with how quickly PEER Group has taken over these new products.”

In the first quarter of 2010, PEER Group plans new releases for the three other products acquired from Asyst: EIB™, FAST FW™, and NexEDA™. Kropp adds, “We're listening to customers and generating product roadmaps that will address the industry's new manufacturing requirements.” In addition, PEER Group released a new version of their PEER Tool Orchestrator product, PTO™ version 4, in November and plans a new release for CCS Envoy™ in the first quarter of 2010.
