PEER Group Makes Photovoltaic Tool Automation Easy

24 May 2011

PV2 (PVECI) is the new automation standard from SEMI that defines the communications standard for photovoltaic equipment. Because PV2 is based on GEM (SEMI E30), PEER Group easily incorporated the new standard into its industry-leading GWGEM® and next generation EIB™ connectivity products.

“As the market leader in providing equipment connectivity solutions, we are committed to updating our products to ensure continued compliance with current, as well as new SEMI standards,” says Alison McKenzie, Technical Product Manager, PEER Group.

PV2 adds several new features to SEMI E30 to better align with PV manufacturing. Equipment platforms with existing GWGEM or EIB implementations need only do a simple upgrade. OEMs adding PV2 to a new platform will leverage the years of product advancement that make GWGEM and EIB fast and easy to implement.

PEER Group’s PV2 solution offers a range of integration and deployment options, including C#, C, Windows client/server, Linux and Unix. “We’re focused on delivering highly productive new technology to our customers,” continues McKenzie. “In addition to PV2, we have a number of exciting new product capabilities on the horizon.”
