EIB OEM Product Suite

The EIB™ OEM Product Suite is a multi-connection, multi-protocol host connectivity software solution for equipment suppliers that reduces the cost of satisfying each factory’s increasingly diverse automation requirements. It’s a single, integrated platform that delivers the equipment automation communications standards – SECS/GEM, 300mm, and EDA – used in semiconductor, PV, LED, MEMS and other high-technology manufacturing. Both EIB OEM and EIB Factory are built upon the same technology which means that many factories are using the same automation software technology as their suppliers.


Flexible and Easy Configuration 

EIB OEM is a single, flexible connectivity software platform that results in a solution which is efficient to implement and deploy. It’s easy to configure for any tool type –  process, metrology, inspection –  and any tool topography – single substrate, batch, cluster, multi-chamber and continuous flow.OEMs can enable options to customize their solution to meet end user needs while still maintaining a stable integration point with equipment software and/or devices.

Integrated Product Suite

The EIB OEM Product Suite consists of the EIB technology platform with three connectivity product options: EIB GEM, EIB 300, and EIB EDA. OEMs may install the entire suite or simply start with a single product and, if desired, enable others later. Users benefit from a common code base, a consistent user experience, reduced solution configuration effort and deployment risk, as well as simplified product support and maintenance. See the tabs below for product details.

Technology 

EIB OEM is built on the Equipment Information Bridge (EIB), a patented and industry-proven software technology platform that provides a robust and flexible connectivity solution meeting the demands of mission-critical equipment software and your customers’ evolving manufacturing needs.  

As the foundation for all next-generation PEER Group connectivity products, EIB enables fast and reliable communications to any number and type of equipment such as sensors, end-point detectors, add-on chambers as well as software components including equipment control or APC software. EIB provides the latest factory automation standards including SECS/GEM, GEM300, PV2, and Interface A (EDA) as well as general purpose communication protocols such as OPC, Microsoft COM, .NET, and WCF. 
Custom communication mechanisms are easily added in order to integrate specialized software  applications, non-standard host communications, or 3rd party peripheral devices to your equipment.  
With EIB OEM’s configuration, debugging and troubleshooting utilities, and code samples you can further reduce your implementation time. 

.NET 

EIB OEM is built on the Microsoft .NET Framework, allowing OEMs to take full advantage of .NET’s programming which can reduce integration time by as much as 50%. The .NET implementation enables a number of other features, including improved threading and memory management, full object exposure, and multiple programming languages (C#, J#, VB#, C, COM), allowing OEMs to utilize .NET functionality even if the equipment controller itself is not based on .NET.

EIB GEM


EIB GEM provides SECS/GEM SEMI E30 or PV2 (PVECI) connectivity to any type of high-technology equipment. This next-generation product leverages the success of its predecessor, PEER Group’s GWGEM®, which has over 40,000+ licenses shipped. EIB GEM implements all the custom connectivity features that GWGEM users have come to expect, as well as certain SEMI standard-like behavior widely accepted throughout the industry but not dictated specifically in the SEMI standards. Combining this with EIB’s state-of-the-art software technology, PEER Group engineers have developed a highly-efficient and innovative multi-connection GEM connectivity product.

EIB EDA provides SEMI Interface A (EDA) enabling OEMs to deliver real-time data on-demand in high volumes without affecting normal equipment performance. It also provides the basis for advanced manufacturing application capabilities such as e-Diagnostics, SPC, APC, Fault Detection, and Run-to-Run (R2R) Control. EIB EDA is a fully-compliant, equipment-side communication solution that is flexible, efficient, and easy to implement. With EIB’s configuration capabilities you are in control of the data provided through EDA and can limit the load on your controller. The multi-connection and multi-protocol technology enables EIB EDA to be deployed on virtually any type of equipment, collecting data from multiple sources, in either an on-tool (integrated OEM) or off-tool (adaptive) configuration.
