A message from PEER Group President & CEO, Mike Kropp

Update: July 14, 2020 

The Ontario government announced yesterday that most businesses in the province can reopen on Friday, July 17. PEER Group will reopen in stages. Next week (July 20-24), approximately 20% of our team will return to our Kitchener office. During our transition back to “normal” working arrangements, we remain committed to providing excellent customer support regardless of whether our team members are in the office or working from home.

Update: June 24, 2020 

Ontario has extended emergency measures to July 15. Businesses will re-open gradually in phases and at this time, we do not know our return-to-office date. We will continue to serve our customers remotely for at least three more weeks.

Update: May 27, 2020

To protect Ontarians while reopening the province and economy gradually and safely, our government has extended emergency orders until June 9. We do not know when our office will re-open and we will continue to serve our customers remotely until it does. This arrangement has been very successful since we started working from home in mid-March.

Update: May 6, 2020

Ontario has extended provincial emergency measures to May 19. PEER Group will continue to serve our customers remotely until the government allows us to safely return to our offices.

Update: April 15, 2020

The Government of Ontario has extended our provincial State of Emergency to May 12, and non-essential businesses like ours will remain closed until at least that date. We continue to develop and support our products and will continue to serve our customers remotely until our government deems it safe to return to the office.

Update: March 31, 2020

On March 30, the Government of Ontario extended the province-wide Declaration of Emergency to last until at least April 13; all non-essential businesses will remain closed and our team members will work remotely until at least that date.

On March 31, the Premier of Ontario, Doug Ford, announced that students will not return to Ontario schools until at least May 4. This date could further extend our work-from-home arrangement.

We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation globally and will plan for a safe return-to-office date when it is advisable and possible to do so. Until that time, we will continue to support our customers remotely.

Update: March 24, 2020

This past week, most of our team members in North America started to work remotely to help us prevent the spread of COVID-19. We have tried to make this transition as seamless as possible for our customers. We are providing successful customer support remotely. And, we have moved to electronic license fulfillment, meaning we send all product license activations electronically.

On Monday, March 23, Ontario’s Premier, Doug Ford, ordered all non-essential businesses to shut down for at least two weeks. As such, all Canadian team members will work remotely for the duration of this province-wide order. As we adjust to this “new normal,” we might run into some unforeseen bumps in the road; we will do everything we can to continue to support our customers fully and without delay.

In this time of global unease, I wanted to share some of the changes we have made to ensure the health and safety of our team members, customers, partners, and suppliers.

During the COVID-19 crisis, we have given our employees the option to work remotely if their roles allow it. Some of our team members will work from home while others have chosen to come into the office. This arrangement will let us do our part for social distancing, to stop the spread of the Coronavirus.

This also means we can maintain normal business operations and our teams will continue to work on all products and projects as planned. Whether on-premise or remote, we are one team dedicated to providing you with the very best factory automation software solutions.

Our product support teams will provide the same exceptional levels of support you expect from us, and your support will continue without interruption or risk.

Our engineering services teams will work on your solutions, meeting with customers remotely (as we do every day). Since international travel is currently at a standstill, some planned integration trips might be impacted. We are working with customers to perform activities remotely, wherever possible.

Our executive team will continue to monitor the situation closely; we will meet daily and we might adapt how we work as the situation evolves.

We will update this message as needed to keep you informed of any changes to our business operations. In the meantime, please stay healthy and safe.
