SEMI A3: Specification for Printed Circuit Board Equipment Communication Interfaces (PCBECI)
This standard is designed for the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) manufacturing industry. Its goal is to provide a communications interface for the manufacturing floor to improve productivity while reducing the cost of automating equipment. The PCBECI standard is built upon established SEMI standards, using SEMI E4 or E37 as the connection protocol and SEMI E5 messages for communications. It defines a simplified subset of the SEMI E30 (GEM) capabilities that are most applicable to the PCB industry, making it faster and easier to implement than a full GEM solution.
