Canadian semiconductor industry focus of month-long celebration

Kitchener, Ontario – September 12, 2024

PEER Group®, the largest supplier of innovative factory automation software products for the semiconductor industry, is a proud sponsor of the inaugural edition of CHIPS Month Canada, a month-long celebration of Canada’s growing semiconductor industry.

Kicking off on October 7, 2024, CHIPS Month Canada will bring together key members of the North American semiconductor industry for a series of special events including open houses, conferences, networking opportunities, and webinars.

The focus will be on Canada’s unique contributions to the global semiconductor industry and the ways Canadian innovators can help advance chip manufacturing into the future.

“As a proud Canadian company supplying the global semiconductor industry, PEER Group is excited to be part of CHIPS Month Canada,” says Mike Kropp, PEER Group’s Co-founder, President and CEO. “With our world-leading R&D capabilities, talented workforce, advanced manufacturing, access to critical minerals, and so much more, Canada has great potential to play a very important role in the North American – and for that matter, global – semiconductor industry.”

Scheduled events during CHIPS Month Canada, which will take place at various locations across Canada, include the 36th annual Advanced Process Control Smart Manufacturing (APCSM) Conference, the Canadian Semiconductor Symposium, a SEMI® North American Advisory Board (NAAB) meeting, the MEMS & Sensors Executive Congress, and more.

“Canadian business leaders and industry representatives already know the value Canada contributes to the global semiconductor supply chain,” says Doug Suerich, PEER Group’s Director of Marketing and Chair of the CHIPS Month Canada Steering Committee. “CHIPS Month Canada is the perfect way to celebrate these contributions and chart a path forward for our country to play an even bigger role globally.”
