FAST FW

Build a station controller for your high-tech factory

FAST FW provides a foundation for factories to build SEMI-compliant station controllers for equipment connectivity, job management, and data collection.

Control your equipment and manufacturing processes

FAST FW™ is our station controller development framework that helps semiconductor factories control equipment and manufacturing processes. Built on top of our powerful EIB® Factory connectivity product, FAST FW can provide 200mm and 300mm SEMI Standards compliance and powerful data collection and EDA / Interface A capabilities.

Save time and costs

FAST FW promotes the use of customer-specific operational scenarios which reduces implementation and deployment time and costs. You can customize base station controller functionality to meet your unique manufacturing requirements and add extensions to meet your current and future manufacturing requirements. FAST FW also integrates easily with other factory applications such as MES, SPC, EDC and RMS, preserving and extending your existing investments.

Using FAST FW for your station controller development, you can:

  • Leverage a library of jobs and job steps representing generic business processes.
  • Support material processing based on the concept of processing jobs (as defined by SEMI E40 and SEMI E94).
  • Configure a job engine to schedule and run material process jobs.
  • Enable SEMI Standards compliance with 200mm and 300mm connectivity to your equipment.
  • Add EDA data consumers to collect data from EDA-compliant equipment.
  • Add general data collection consumers to collect run-time and historical data from your equipment including advanced time-series data collection.
  • Integrate with manufacturing equipment around the world that has been designed with an EIB Factory connection.

Choose the best option from our integrated product suite

The FAST FW product family offers three station controller solutions: FAST 200, FAST 300, and FAST TAP.

FAST 200 for 200mm fab automation

With PEER® FAST 200™, you can update your automation technology to take advantage of thin-client station control functionality while preserving current investments in automation.

  • Extensive library of pre-defined 200mm processing steps easily configured into base-level 200mm operational scenarios.
  • Templates for extending base-level processing steps to create customer-specific library classes for implementing unique operational and manufacturing requirements.
  • Configurable automation adaptors to support the integration of FAST 200 to a wide range of fab applications including MES, EDC and recipe management systems.
  • Rich library of existing equipment models which minimize the time required for implementation of equipment connectivity.
  • Built upon Microsoft .NET, the standard for implementing and deploying mission-critical applications.

FAST 300 for 300mm fab automation and EDA / Interface A

With PEER FAST 300™, you can implement 300mm operational scenarios for high-volume manufacturing.

  • Extensive library of pre-defined 300mm processing steps easily configured into base-level operational scenarios.
  • Templates for extending base-level processing steps to create customer-specific library classes for implementing unique operational and manufacturing requirements.
  • Configurable automation adaptors to support the integration of FAST 300 to a wide range of fab applications including MES, EDC and recipe management systems.
  • Rich library of existing equipment models which minimize the time required for implementation of equipment connectivity.
  • Built upon Microsoft .NET, the standard for implementing and deploying mission critical applications.

FAST TAP for test, assembly and packaging

PEER FAST TAP™ was built specifically for semiconductor test, assembly, and packaging (TAP) operations. It was developed in cooperation with one of the largest IC manufacturers and embeds TAP manufacturing domain knowledge through implementation of best known methods.

With FAST TAP, you can build and deploy solutions incrementally by targeting immediate short-term needs and adding new capabilities, saving time and costs.

  • Extensive library of pre-defined processing steps specific to test, assembly and packaging easily configured into base-level operational scenarios.
  • Templates for extending base-level processing steps to create customer-specific library classes, for implementing unique operational and manufacturing requirements.
  • Support modeling of modules by allowing the linkage of process and metrology equipment into a single entity simplifying process flow automation.
  • Ability to easily implement connectivity to non-SECS/GEM equipment (scales, cameras, etc.) by providing the methods necessary to develop custom interfaces.
  • Configurable automation adaptors to support the integration of FAST TAP to a wide range of fab applications including MES, EDA, and recipe management systems.

Product releases

Latest release

Version: 8.7|Release Date: July 23, 2025

What's new

Overview

This version provides additional well-known names (WKNs) to enable seamless equipment integration with factory systems. In this release, WKNs are defined for SEMI®-defined variables, collection events, and alarms in E5, E30, E87, and E90. To assist with instance identification, EIB’s E172 SEDD documentation now publishes equipment characterization data for substrate locations, batch locations, equipment modules, EPT modules, and load ports.

New carrier management features have been added for factory material transfer scheduling. The new Carrier Complete Prediction (CCP) capability in E87 replaces Carrier Ready to Unload Prediction (CRTU/CaRTUP). CPP offers better flexibility, accuracy, and carrier location prediction for internal buffer equipment.

This release also provides additional information for carriers and substrates, equipment identification data (serial number and supplier), optional slot map scanning, and the ability to transfer SEDD documents through the GEM interface using Stream 21 messages.

Supported technologies

FAST FW now supports:

  • Windows Server 2025
  • Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC 2024
  • Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024
