Albert Fuchigami wins prestigious SEMI International Standards Excellence Award

Kitchener, Ontario – October 14, 2026

Congratulations to Albert on receiving the International Standards Excellence Award!
PEER Group®, the largest supplier of innovative factory automation software products for the semiconductor industry, is pleased to announce that Albert Fuchigami, Senior Standards Specialist for PEER Group, has been named the recipient of the prestigious SEMI® International Standards Excellence Award.

The award is presented to a member of the International Standards Committee (ISC) in recognition of exceptional and longstanding contributions to the SEMI Standards program. Fuchigami was given the award at a ceremony held during SEMICON West 2026.

“I am truly honored to receive this recognition from SEMI and privileged to work with a remarkable standards community whose expertise and collaboration span the globe,” says Fuchigami, a 28-year industry veteran who has been actively involved in the ISC since 2016. “The work we do together may not always be visible, but by collaborating in a pre-competitive environment, we build the essential foundations that enable the interoperability and scalability required for the modern semiconductor manufacturing supply chain.”

Nominated by a committee comprising past award winners, Fuchigami was selected in part for his leadership as co-leader of the North America DDA Task Force, co-chair of the North America Information & Control Technical Committee, as well as his contributions to Information & Control committees and various task forces across North America, Japan, China, and Taiwan.

Highly respected by his peers and lauded for his collaborative nature and willingness to help wherever needed, Fuchigami is revered as a trusted expert spanning SEMI Standards areas including cybersecurity, equipment data publication, equipment data acquisition, GEM300, process control, digital twins, and equipment security.

As a technical contributor, Fuchigami was also recognized for his work as primary author or key contributor to numerous new SEMI Standards, including SEMI E190, E191, E196, and the reworking of the EDA / Interface A standards suite in preparation for EDA Freeze 3.

“All of us at PEER Group are very proud of Albert for receiving this remarkable recognition,” says Mike Kropp, President and CEO of PEER Group. “SEMI Standards are the foundation that allows fabs, OEMs, and suppliers to work together under a common framework to enable industry-wide interoperability, advanced automation, and connectivity. Albert’s leadership and technical expertise continue to help shape the standards that will guide the future of semiconductor manufacturing.”

Looking ahead, Fuchigami’s SEMI Standards work will focus on finalizing the EDA / Interface A Freeze 3 Standards Suite, enabling next-generation, high-speed data collection for advanced analytics applications. He will also play a key role in advancing the SEMI Cybersecurity Standards Suite and broaden the reach of SEMI Standards by evolving and extending them to meet the emerging needs of backend and advanced packaging industries.
